 Last week I was the grammarian for the first time in my club. My role began when the Toastmaster introduced me. I stood to explain my role, announced the “word of the day” (runaway), and mentioned I would post about my experience as grammarian online. Club members were so excited about my blog! The meeting continued and I tallied word usage during all speeches, most of which were very exceptional. During the grammarian’s report, I explained that all members used the word of the day in their speeches, but two speakers incorrectly used the “word of the day” as a verb. After the meeting, my mentor invited me for coffee nearby to discuss my goals for future meeting roles.

I will serve as the Ah-Counter in a meeting next month. I look forward to sharing my experience with my readers!
